History

Established in the year 2000 to commemorate Nigeria’s 40th Independence Anniversary, the Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute was created as a distinguished platform to honour excellence, leadership, and outstanding contributions to national development.

The inaugural ceremony, held on 1st October 2000 at the Hilton Hotel Olympia, was chaired by the then Attorney General of Lagos State, Oluyemi Osinbajo, marking a historic beginning where approximately twenty exceptional Nigerians were first recognised and decorated for their merit and impact.

Over the past twenty-six years, the Institute has evolved into a respected global recognition platform, consistently spotlighting Nigerians whose achievements continue to shape industries, communities, and institutions, particularly across the United Kingdom and the United States. Through its enduring legacy, it has remained steadfast in celebrating excellence without borders, honouring those whose work embodies distinction, innovation, and national pride on the global stage.
