About Us
26 Years of Celebrating Nigerian Excellence Across the Globe
The Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute was founded in 2000 from the visionary dream of its founder, Afolabi Andu, who recognised the need for a prestigious platform dedicated to honouring exceptional Nigerians whose achievements continue to inspire progress, excellence, and national pride.
Driven by a passion to celebrate outstanding accomplishment, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and service, he envisioned an institution that would showcase the remarkable contributions of Nigerians from all walks of life and elevate their stories onto the global stage. That vision became a reality on 1 October 2000 when the Institute hosted the inaugural Nigerian Achievers Awards Ceremony in commemoration of Nigeria’s 40th Independence Anniversary, marking the beginning of a legacy that has endured for more than two decades.
History
The Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute was established in the year 2000, to celebrate Nigeria’s fortieth Independence anniversary. The inaugural event was held on the first of October 2000 at the Hilton Hotel Olympia under the distinguished Chairmanship of Professor Oluyemi Osinbajo, the then Attorney General of Lagos State. On that occasion, about twenty Nigerians were recognised and duly honoured with a merit award.
